PROTECTION OF FARMERS (From our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON. Aug. 15. Moving the committal of the Stock Remedies Amendment Bill in the House of Representatives to-night, the Minister of Lands, Mr Skinner, said that it would' strengthen the original act and give farmers more protection. Mr T. L. Macdonald (Oppn., Mataurai said that the bill would be well worthwhile if it protected farmers from unscrupulous persons aiming to make easy money out. of them. He referred to the sale of a salt lick which had been found to contain animal hair. It incorporated salt which had been used on hides in a freezing works. In another case, a stock remedy was found to consist of finely ground brick dust incorporated in a binder. The bill was read a second time.
