CARGO THEFTS

FOUR MEN SENTENCED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 15 Four members ol the crew of the overseas vessel Mahana were sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment by Mr J L. Stout, S.M., to-day for thefts from the ship’s cargo. They were George Albert Charnock, aged 26, who stole cigarettes and tobacco valued at £1 10s, Charles John Craze, aged 19, cigarettes valued at £l, Phillip Edward Joyce whisky valued at 16s 6d. and William George Sadler aged 20, tobacco valued at 7s 6d.)
