ERRAND OF MERCY
PLANE’S ARRIVAL AT TAIERI The mercy flight undertaken by the Beechcralt aeroplane in transporting Mrs J. Carswell from Mangere aerodrome, Auckland, ended at 1.10 yesterday afternoon, when the plane landed at the Taieri airfield. The plane, which is owned by the Auckland Aero Club, resumed its interrupted flight from Harewood aerodrome at 11.23 yesterday morning with its two passengers, Mrs Carswell as a stretcher case, and Mrs T. H. Mulholland, her daughter, as her companion. The trip south was a good one, it was stated yesterday. The plane was met on its arrival at Taieri by an ambulance supplied by the St. John Association.
The plane is expected to leave the Taieri aerodrome at 7.30 this morning for Invercargill. It will bring a patient, Mrs A. D. Asher, of Balfour, whose destination is Rotorua, on the return journey, which will be via Taieri and Paraparaumu..
