TRUCULENT DEFENDANTS

MILITARY TRIAL DEMANDED (Rec. 1 a.m.) HAIFA, Aug. 12. Eighteen Jewish youths and four girls sang songs of the Jewish “ underground” when a military court began nearing charges that they participated in an attack on the Haifa railway workshops. The president adjourned the court when the accused refused to plead. The accused demanded to be treated as prisoners of war. The court was guarded by Sherwood Foresters and Arab legionaires, who cordoned off the building, while sentries manned roof posts.
