VISCOUNTS DESIRE

LIFE ON SAILING SHIP (Rec. 0.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 12. Viscount Traprain, aged 20, the heir of the Earl of Balfour, is serving as a cadet on the Blue Funnel steamer Tyndaneus, which arrived at Sydney to-day from Liverpool. He wants to serve in a sailing ship. ‘‘There is no experience like that gained in sail. When went into the merchant navy two years ago there was no opportunity of getting on a square-rigged vessel. I am very happy at sea,” he said. He may try to join the crew of the sailing ship Pamir in New Zealand.
