CHANGEABLE AND SHOWERY Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—The situation is of a westerly type with pressures high to the north and very low to the south of the Dominion. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Fresh to strong winds from a westerly quarter; weather changeable and showery at first, but improving during the day, especially inland; temperatures rather cooler. Further Outlook.—Changeable, west 7 erly weather continuing. Weather in Dunedin.—ldeal conditions prevailed in Dunedin yesterday, with 6hr 48min of bright sunshine. The maximum temperature was 54.1 deg, the minimum 39.6 and the grass minimum 33.6. The rainfall amounted .to O.lin. There was a fairly strong westerly wind in the morning, but this moderated considerably in the afternoon, and there was almost a dead calm at night. The barometer fell steadily from mid-day, the midnight reading being 29.25 in (990 millibars).
