MR BODKIN’S CAREER 'Mr William Alexander Bodkin, M.P., for Central Otago, has again been selected as the National Party’s candidate for that electorate at the General Election this year. His was the only nomination. 1 Mr Bodkin has been a member for Central Otago since 1928. He was bom in Queenstown in 1885 and studied law in Dunedin, being admitted as a barrister and solicitor in 1909. In 1910 he purchased the practice Of Mr J. R. Bartholomew in Alexandra, and has been in practice there ever since. He first sought Parliamentary honours in 1914, when he unsuccessfully contested the Central Otago seat against the late Mr R. Scott.
