Jottings The New Zealand-bred pacer Nelson Eddy is at the stud in South Australia. Handicaps for the first day of the Metropolitan Trotting Clubs National meeting are due to-morrow. Paddy Potts, who paid an outsize in dividends when he won at Forbury Paik in January, is in work, and the son of Jack Potts* is expected to show improved form early in the season. ' The Dillon Hall four-year-old Blue Heaven was started in eight races last season and her record was three wins, two thirds, and one fourth. She is expected to reach tighter marks this season and is just the sort to step her way on to metropolitan tracks.
Popular Pacer Discussing Gold Bar .recently, A. Holmes, his owner-trainer, said that he was workins well and that he would probably make his next appearance in the sprint events at the National meeting (says the Press). Besides finishing in second place on the winning horses list, with £5955 for two wins, a second placing, and a third placing in five starts last season, Gold Bar. who has successfully combined racing and stud duties during recent seasons, was represented by winners including Local Gold, Worthy Gold. Golden Game, Daisy Gold, and Gold Case. A spectacular performer, Gold Bar is one of the most popular pacers seen out for some years, and his presence will be welcomed at the coming meeting.
