NEED STILL EXISTS

U.N.R.R.A. AID IN EUROPE RESOURCES ALMOST ENDED GENEVA, Aug. 7. “We have received notice that our labours are ended.” the Director-gene-ral for Europe, Mr F. H. La Guardia, told the U.N.R.R.A. Council. He added that he used the word notice because not one of the main contributing nations had made any provisions for 1947. The administration did not for a moment think the need would be over by the end of 1946. The administrate would end all procurements and buying by the end of the year, but shipments of goods not yet shipped would be delivered. The programme would be completed. Mr La Guardia thanked the people ol Britain, who had suffered so much during the war. for their generous contribution to U.N.R.R.A.
