WIN IN FINAL STAGES
The game at Logan Park was played at a fast pace, but too much hard-kicking tactics spoiled play. Roslyn played a spoiling game that was successful as far as the opposing goal area, but numerous scoring opportunities went begging. Stubborn defence by Ramage, Ness, Wilson and McCallion kept University out. Hill took the ball well down-field, and sent through to Dowsett, who gave Welham, in goal, no chance with a hard drive • This was the only score at half time. University maintained a strong attack after the interval, but Howie shot past. And at the other end, with a powerful drive, Ness hit the crossbar ■ from a penalty. Brady was applauded when he recovered from the rebound to concede a fruitless corner. After a period of midfield play, K. Howie scored from a cross by Gordon. Wilson sent his forwards away, and Garrick beat Brady with a fast follow-up shot. Howie and Dowsett put University two goals further ahead. The students were now dominating play. The final score was: University A 5, Roslyn-Wakari 1. Mr A. Dickson was the referee.
