BLAME FOR ROUGH PLAY DENIAL FROM AUSTRALIA (Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 26. Replying to a statement made by the English League captain, Gus Risman. in Auckland, the Australian captain, Joe Jorgenson, denies that Australia was to blame for the rough play in the tests. “We were loyal to the coach's instructions to play the game,” said Jorgenson, “ but there were times when the Englishmen’s provocation was Unbearable. Intimidation was an important part of England’s tactics. I am confident that the crowds knew which side was the aggressor.” Other. League players are surprised at Risman’s statement because at a farewell function Risman said that in three tours of Australia he had never played against better sportsmen.
