LONDON CONFERENCE

INVITATION TO ARABS LONDON, July 25 It is authoritatively stated that the British Government has invited the Arab League to send representatives to a London conference on Palestine and European Jewry. The Arabs and the Jews in Palestine are also being invited. It is hoped that the meeting will be held before the opening of the United Nations Conference on September 23. The American Cabinet Committee on Palestine may send observers to the conference.

In Jerusalem to-day a Jewish Agency spokesman told the press that .the Jewish Agency denied the authenticity of “the jumble of alleged telegrams in the White Paper on Palestine, not a single one of which'emanated from the Jewish Agency.” The spokesman challenged Britain to prove the authenticity of the telegrams. The illegal radio, “Voice of Israel,” 10-day warned Palestine Jews to be prepared for “ phase two ” of British military operations, which would be “ crueller ” than phase one—the arrest of Jewish leaders on June 29. British military headquarters have placed all Jewish entertainments, restaurants, shops and private dwellings out of bounds to all ranks.
