CHILDREN’S SHOES

DIFFICULTIES OF MOTHERS (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 26. A suggestion that the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr D. G. Sullivan, should give serious consideration to the delicensing of the shoe industry so far as children’s shoes were concerned, was made by Mr J. "T. Watts (Oppn., Riccarton) in notice of a question in the House of Representatives to day. He referred to the recent statement by the Acting Minister of Customs, Mr A. H. Nordmeyer, that importations of children’s shoes from England would be very small for some considerable time, and to the great difficulty experienced by mothers in obtaining supplies locally.
