WAR SERVICE ENDING

GIANT OCEAN LINERS RETURN TO CIVILIAN TRADE (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, July 25. The Queen Mary is now on her last voyage as a troop ship. She left Southhampton last Friday for Halifax and New York, and when she returns to Southhampton early in August she will be released from Government servicfe to go into dock for refit. She will orobably occupy the dock at present ’ used by the Queen Elizabeth, which has already reverted to her owners and is being prepared for the civilian trade. Another well-known Cunarder, the Mauretania, is also on her last trodping voyage. The Mauretania is expected at Liverpool early next month from Singapore, and will then dock at Birkenhead for refit.
