COASTWISE MOVEMENTS Waimarina sailed yesterday for Bluff and will return to Dunedin about the end of next week to load for Auckland, via Wellington. Holmdale sailed last night for Wellington, via Oamaru. A Waiana will sail on July 31 for Auckland direct. Kauri, from Napier, Gisborne, and Wellington, is due here on Sunday. After discharge she will go Into dock, and will load early next week for Napier and Gisborne. via Oamaru and Timaru. NEW EASTERN LINE A new British shipping service, the Australia-China Line, has entered the' Australia-Far East trade with regular services, which it is intended later to extend to New Zealand.i j The service will cater for trade with the Philippines, Hong- , kong, and Shanghai. Messrs Jardine, Matheson, and Co., Ltd., Hongkong, are the managing agents for the line and Messrs Birt and Co. (Pty.), Ltd., have been appointed general agents for Australia. The chief New Zealand agents are the Federal Steam Navigation Company, Ltd., of Wellington, and the Dunedin agents are Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co., Ltd.
