TOO LATE TO CHANGE

CHRISTCHURCH LEAGUE MATCH (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 9. It was too late to make any change in the itinerary for the English League team’s match set down for Christchurch on July 27, the same day as the Kiwi Union match and the race meeting at Riccarton, said the chairman of the New Zealand League Council, Mr J A. Redwood, in a telephone conversation this morning with Mr W. E. Desmond, chairman of the Canterbury Rugby League Management Committee.

It had been suggested that the Englishmen should play at Greymouth on July 27 and play the Christchurch game in the middle of the following week.
