DIET AND COLDS
, No diet has value for preventing or curing colds, according to Dr Noah Fabricant distinguished American ear. nose and throat specialist, in his latest book, “ The Common Cold.” He explains that yeast, oranges, tomato juice, butter, eggs, vegetables, meat and liver have their enthusiastic advocates. Yet in communities where the general diet includes more than enough of each vitamin the incidence of the common cold is just as hich as it is elsewhere In regard to the “ alkaline " advocates, he mentioned that as far as the nose is concerned a healthy nose is normally slightly acid in its secretions. There are, of course, experts to contradict such arguments, but few will contradict the wisdom of taking advantage of the special properties of Baxters Lung Preserver •• Baxters ” gives relief to coughs colas and sore throats In New Zealand more people rely on " Baxters" than on any other preparation This is because ” Baxters ” over 80 years has proved itself to be the most reliable, fast-acting remedy Its penetrating properties quickly soothe irritation and relieve congestion The soundest advice is to take common-sense precautions and Baxters Lung Preserver ” Baxters ” is very palatable—children love it.
