THE WOOL INDUSTRY
NEWCASTLE EXCHANGE OPENING IN SEPTEMBER (Rec. 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 5. The Wool Exchange which is due to be opened at Newcastle in September is expected to develop into the third largest wool-selling centre in Australia. Newcastle businessmen believe more use should be made of New;castle as a marketing centre for primary products. Of nearly 500,000 bales of wool received from northern and north-western districts in the last 12 mpnths, 300,000 were forwarded to Sydney.
