ORDERS FOR MAINTENANCE SAFEGUARDING LEGISLATION (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 5. Information whether it was the intention of the Minister of Social Security, Mr W. E. Parry, to bring down legislation this session to safeguard the universal family benefit when assessing maintenance, was sought by Mr P. G. Connolly (Govt., Dunedin West) in notice of a question in the House of Representatives to-day. He stated that in a recent case in Dunclin me family benefit being paid to the mother of a child was taken into account when computing maintenance under a court order.
