DUNEDIN QUOTATIONS SLIGHTLY EASIER TONE The week’s trading on the 'Dunedin Stoik Exchange opened quietly on Monday, and up till yesterday an easier tone was apparent Buyers again exceeded sellers on die quotation lists, but their rates in most, cases did not deviate much from those ruling last week. Buyers were still quoting Macduffs (ordinary) at 25s throughout the week, with no sellers but yesterday the shares were quoted at 25s 2d and 25s 6d, with a reported sale at 25s 3d. Apart from a parcel o£ Bank of New Zealand Stock, 1957-6 U. the only large transaction involving Government stock was the sale of a parcel (£9000) of the 2J per cent. War Loan. 1953 at £97 12s Gd. There were further sales of Ross and Glendining unlisted stocks at unchanged rates, and also of New' Zealand Express preference shares. New Zealand Breweries improved by 3d during the week, and there was a reported sale yesterday at £2 17s. Buyevs continued to advance their offers for G. J. Coles to £4 8s 9d yesterday, and there were sellers at £4 10s. The following table shows, to the neares. £, the turnover on the local Stock Exchange during the past week:—
