ROUND OF INSPECTION

YOUNG FARMERS ON TOUR (Special) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 5. The programme of the touring members of the Otago and Southland Young Farmers' Club varied this week between visits to farms and to factories dealing with primary industries After listening to a talk on the meat inspection system and certain animal diseases by Mr D. Ross veterinarian, the visiting farmers from Southland, accompanied by their hosts, were conducted through the Waitara freezing works of Messrs Borthwick and Co., Ltd. Later one party visited the all-the-year-round grazing farm of Mr W. Hunger, who milks a Friesian herd for town supply, while the other party was conducted over the pedigree Ayrshire stud of Mr A. G. Hall, at Lepperton. They also inspected the tannery works at Stratford, and later were the guests of the management of the New Zealand Co-operative Rennet Company, of Eltham.
