SLOOP OPOSSUM

VISIT TO DOMINION ' (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 14. Information has been received from the British Pacific Fleet authorities that H.M.S. Opossum will arrive in New Zealand next week. Tiie Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones, stated this evening that the Opossum would arrive at Picton from Sydney on June 21. She would subsequently visit Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland leaving again for Sydney on July 3. The Opossum is a modern sloop of the Royal Navy, of 1800 tons, and carries a company of 11 officers and 160 men.
