MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Homeservicemen’s Association was held on Tuesday evening, Mr R. M. Wilkie presiding. Dominion headquarters notified that the annual conference would be held at Wellington from August 9 to August 11.— Messrs Wilkie and Torrance were appointed delegates in conjunction with Mr Butler (Dominion vice-president). Mr Butler was nominated as Dominion president and Mr Wilkie as a councillor. A letter of appreciation of the work of the Housing Sub-committee was received from a member. A group of members in the Lawrence district reported the formation of a subbranch.—This was approved and Messrs Townsend, McLeod and Chisholm were appointed to attend a meeting at Lawrence on Saturday. Mr Armstrong reported that the Miniature Rifle Club was conducting weekly shoots and would welcome new members. Sixteen new members were admitted and two transfers in approved. Mr Chisholm reported having completed the preliminary work for the publication of a journal. Some further details remained to be completed, but it was hoped to make the first publication early in August.
