The American Antarctic Association is planning a South Polar expedition. reports the Washington correspondent of the New York Times. The Senate Naval Affairs Committee will make a navy vessel available, and the navy plans to send observers to make elaborate tests of radar and cold weather equipment. It is unofficially predicted that Admiral Byrd will go as an observer and consultant. The expedition is not expected to leave before December, and will return after about 18 months.
