AUSTRALIA CELEBRATES
SPECTACULAR PARADE IN SYDNEY (Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 10., A crowd estimated at 400,000 watched 20,000 serving and ex-service men and women march in to-day’s victory parade. The display was made more spectacular by the presence of French and Dutch contingents, a small Greek party in white-skirted Evzone costumes, and by tanks, anti-aircraft guns, and floats depicting the war effort. Ambulance officers treated 220 cases of collapse, most of the casualties being women spectators. None were seriously ill. R.A.A.F. Mosquitoes and fighter planes flew in formation over the course of the procession. Following the parade, 20,000 people attended a victory thanksgiving service in the Domain. To-night there will be music and displays of searchlights and fireworks from Fort Denison and naval vessels.
