BIBLE IN SCHOOLS

SECRETARY’S RETIREMENT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Apl. 18.

The Dominion Council of the Bible-in-Schools League, at its last meeting, passed the following minute concerning the retirement of the Rev. E. O. Blamires from the position of organising secretary of the New Zealand Bible-in-Schools League:— “This council, on the occasion of the retirement of its secretary, Mr Blamires, after 18 years’ tenure of the office, desires to place on record its deep appreciation of his devoted and outstanding services. The council is convinced that it is largely due to his untiring advocacy that the league has established itself in the mind of the public as the agency of the churches for securing the religious instruction of the children in our primary schools. “Mr Blamires has not spared himself. and he has combined with his enthusiasm a remarkable ability in sustaining and administering the financial position and affairs of the league. The council wishes him God-speed and every happiness in his retirement, and looks forward to his continued help in years to come.”
