(Rec. 9 p.m). SYDNEY, Mar. 29. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who returned to-day, were bidden farewell from Norfolk Island by an old Tahitian song from a group of oliveckinned island girls. The royal party attended a ball last evening at which practically the whole of the island population danced in honour of the * V *Thelsland administrator, Sir Charles Rosenthal, told Pressmen that if the Americans owned Norfolk Island would make it a second Honolulu. He Is asking the Australian Government to spend® £IOO.OOO on developing the ■ island for tourists and trade. A re gular monthly boat service and week y sir sprvice wcr® rGQuirGu. ■ The fruit, Vegetable and fishing industries needed development. All the remaining Crown lands on the island are reserved f?r ex-servicemen. Living costs remain very low and residents claim that a Slid man with two or of land can keep himself, his wife, and child on £2 a week.
