GOVERNOR-GENERAL

DEPARTURE FOR ENGLAND SAILING ON APRIL 18 (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Mar. 29. It is officially announced that the Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall will leave New Zealand for England in the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rimutaka, which is scheduled to sail from Wellington on April 18. Their Excellencies will occupy the Rimutaka’s vice-regal suite in which the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester travelled to Australia at the beginning of last year. It was formerly expected that the change in Governors-General would take place in February, but the shipping position caused a delay in the departure of Lieutenant-general Sir Bernard Freyberg from England and consequently Sir Cyril Newall postponed his departure from the Dominion.
