WOOL BOARD KNITTING COMPETITION

The Co-ordinating Committee of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union and the Women’s Institutes has completed the sorting and judging of the garments sent in from the Otago and Southland competitors in the New Zealand Wool Board’s knitting competition. A display of all the entries is at present on view in the windows of Brown. Ewing and Co., Ltd., and the D.S.A., Ltd. There were 91 entries in the Dunedin area. In the school children’s section there was some very fine work, and 12 of the garments were made by the boys of the Special School at Otekaike. The display will be on view for one week, after which the winning garments, together with the highly commended, will be forwarded to Wellington to compete in the national competition. The prize list is as follows: Section 1 (using New Zealand wool). Adults: Mrs W. E. Fox, Barr street, Mornington, Dunedin, 1; Mrs M. Dark, 246 Dee street, Invercargill, 2; Mrs E. Phillips.
