UNSETTLED CONDITIONS
Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday, by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation: An anti-cyclone lies northwest of Auckland- A deep and complex depression is approaching the South Island from the South Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day: Variable winds with, fresh north-easterlies at first, probably turning south-easterly; weather unsettled with rain at times; temperatures becoming Cooler. Further Outlook: Unsettled, with some further rain.
Weather in Dunedin. —Dull and misty weather, with a moderate to fresh northeast breeze, was experienced in Dunedin yesterday. The barometer fell steadily until the early evening when it began to rise again, and at midnight stood at 29.93 inches (1014 millibars). The following are the meteorological observations taken yesterday at the Daily Times Office:—
