POLISH REFUGEES

DO NOT WANT TO RETURN TO HOMELAND BOMBAY, Mar. 5. Hardly 1 per cent, of the £OOO Polish refugees who arrived in India in 1943-44 has volunteered to return to Poland, said the deputy chairman of the Polish Relief Committee, M. Darlewski. The majority would prefer to settle in Australia, or Canada. Some wanted to stay in India. Most of the refugees are in camp in the Bombay presidency. The Indian Government has informed the Welfare Committee that there is at present no possibility of evacuating them to Poland.
