WELLINGTON MEETING
TRACK IN GOOD ORDER THE PROBABLE FAVOURITES (Special) WELLINGTON, Mar. 7. The Wellington Racing Club will open its autumn meeting at Trentharn on' Saturday. The weather has been changeable during the week and a fair amount of rain has fallen, but it has done little damage to the track, and one fine day would result in the best of going. Unless heavy rain fails in the meantime, the track should be in good order, though probably on the easy side. Scratchings are as follows:—Centime (Railway Handicap), Fortune’s Smile (Autumn Handicap), Wantwood and El Santo (Tinakori Handicap). Betting will be win-and-place. and the following horses are likely to be well supported:— 11.15: Rimu High-weight.—Phalaria. Carnforth. Harris Tweed. 12.0: Plunket Nursery. Flying Robin. Hiraji, Tribute. 12.50: North Island Challenge Stakes. —AI-Sirat. Exeter. Deprive. 1.40: Autumn Handicap.—Foxhaven, Langue d'or. Royal Lancer. 2.30: Tinakori Handicap.—Grill-Pat-mos backet, Specialist, Gaystock. 3.20: Thompson Handicap.—lrish Note, Da Vinci, Kuri. 4.10: Railway Handicap—Peter Robinson. Poutatau. Democracy. 5.0: Silverstream Handicap.—Blanket. Nightfoe. Big Top.
