MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS RECRUITS STILL WANTED Recruits for tljie J Force, which is to take part in this occupation of Japan, were medically examined in Dunedin this week, 75 of the 96 men examined being passed as fit. The grading of eight was deferred, as it was considered that they might reach the reouired physical Standard later. There are still la number of inquiries at the recruiting office at the Kensington Drill Hall. .Ten additional offers of service, two of which were by post, were received yesterday, and these brought the total up to 389 recruits in the Dunedin area.. . The military point out that there are 3 till vacancies in the various specialist branches of the force, and n.c.o.’s in particular are required. Consideration will be given to overage and marrieq: men, provided they have the necessity qualifications. It mav also be possl ble to utilise the services of Grade IJ men in the pay and records section of the force. Applieations from bandsmen are also being considered, but it is stressed that applicants must forward the fullest information concerning the.jr age marital status, band experience, and instruments played.
