HOLIDAY IN FLORIDA

MR CHURCHILL'S PLANS (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent) LONDON, Jan. 3. When Mr Churchill arrives in New York in the Queen Elizabeth with his wife and his daughter, Sarah, he will go straight to Florida, where Colonel Frank Clarke, of Quebec, has put his house at Mr Churchill's service. He will not make a call at Washington before taking the train south. His stay in Florida is to be respected as a purely private affair. He will spend “a month or more in the warm climate” which his physician, Lord Moran, recommended. On March 5, however, he is to address the students of Westminster College, Missouri, on world affairs. President Truman will present him to the gathering. It is not thought that Mr Churchill s stay in the United States is likely tc be prolonged beyond the Missouri engagement. The Conservatives are expecting him back in England by the middle of March.
