FAIR WITH NORTH-EAST WINDS Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 9 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—A ridge of high pressure extends across New Zealand from the north, and there is a deep depression south of Tasmania. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Moderate . to fresh north-easterly winds; fair weather; moderate temperatures. Further Outlook.—Strong winds, and some rain developing. Weather in Dunedin.—After an overcast morning, the weather, in Dunedin yesterday brightened in the afternoon and became fine. A north-east breeze, however, kept the air temperatures cool. The pressure remained high and rose gradually. At midnight the reading was 30.11 inches (1020 millibars).
