The body of a newly-born full-time female European child was found in a. vacant section in Taranaki street by a party of boys who were searching for a ball The police estimate that the death of the child, whose body was wrapped in cheesecloth and then in brown paper, had occurred only a short time before it was found, but no external marks of violence were discovered.
