The successful applicant will be required particularly lota) Administer the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations issued under the Customs and Commerce (Trade Descriptions) Acts regarding the quality, marking, standardisation, casing, etc., of dairy products submitted for export: (b) Ensure strict observance of grade standards adopted for butter, cheese, eggs and margarine; (c) Instigate research and co-operate with research workers with a view to—(i) Improving the quality and keeping quality of all dairy exports, including eggs and egg products; . (ii) Solving defects in dairy products for export, especially those resulting from defective manufacture or during storage; ‘ and (iii) Determining the suitability or otherwise of materials used or to be used for packaging dairy products for export. (d) Co-operate with Australian dairy produce organisations, when required, for the purpose of advising on matters concerning dairy products; (e) Advise departmental technical dairy officers and manufacturers (when necessary) concerning defects in dairy products submitted for export. Applicants should state fully their academic qualifications and furnish in detail particulars of their experience and knowledge of the dairying industry, especially in connection with dairy research and the manufacture and classification of butter, cheese, and other milk products. A sound knowledge of eggs and egg products it essential. Applicants should also state clearly their general administrative qualifications and experience, particularly in regard to the dairying industry. Amongst suitable applicants, preference will be accorded to persons with the necessary qualifications in accordance with the Re-establishment and Employment Act (No. 11 of 1945). Salary within the salary range will be fixed having regard to the qualifications and experience of the applicant. Applications are invited for the position of JUNIOR ELECTRICAL INSPECTORS. (b) Hold an Electrical Wireman’s Licence. , (c) Be a fullv qualified Electrical Fitter. (d) Have had at least four years’ operating experience in a Power Station. (e) Have such electrical or mechanical qualifications which would render him suitable for the position. Conditions of employment and scale of pay will be in accordance with those laid down in the Northern Industrial District Switchboard Operators’ Award. The present approximate average rale of pay, based on this Award, is, after nine months’ service, £7 14s per 40-hour week. The appointment is subject to three months’ probation with the Board, on the satisfactory completion of which the appointment will be confirmed.
