DEALERS' STRIKE AVOIDED CONCERN AMONG HOUSEWIVES (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 15. A threatened Christmas strike by “ black market ” food dealers was averted after workers’ housewives sent a deputation to the Food Ministry and police headquarters, says the Exchange Telegraph’s Rome correspondent. The possibility of cessation of the “black market,” on which practically the entire population depends, caused greater anxiety than the recent political crisis. • Dealers agreed to resume sales on the understanding ff'.at the police will not interfere.
