DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE Interest In 2\ per gent. Government Loans remained steady on the Stock Exchange yesterday. The 1946 issue had a buyer at £IOO ss, and there were sellers cf the 1947-49 Stock at £IOO 10s and the 1948 Stock at £99 10s. The 1950-51 issue had a buyer at £9B ss, and the 1949-51 Stock was inquired for at £9B. Commercial Banks were quoted at 18s 8d (buyer) and 19s (seller), and buying and selling quotations for E.S. and A. Banks were £4 11s 6d and £4 12s 6d respectively. Standard Insurances were wanted at £4 3s 9d, and contributing New Zealand Refrigeratings were inquired for at 14s. lid, while sellers asked 15s 3d. Southland Frozen Meats were wanted at £2 17s for the ordinary shares and £2 18s for the preferences. New Zealand Breweries had a buyer at £2 6s 4d and a seller at £2 6s 9d, Westport Coals were inquired for at £1 ss, while sellers asked £1 6s 3d, and ordinary Bruce Woollens were quoted at £1 17s'(buyer) and £1 18s 3d (seller). There were unsatisfied buyers of British Tobaccos at £2 12s 9d, A.C. and l.’s at £2 16s, Colonial Sugars at £57 15s, and Claude Neon (New Zealand) at £2 Is 3d. General Industries received an inquiry at £1 6s, with sellers asking £1 7s 6d, and McLeod Bros, were wanted at £23 10s. Buyers of New Zealand Express Company ordinary shares were prepared to give 6s, while sellers asked 10s. There were buyers of New Zealand Forest Products (pref.) at 9s 3a, Smith and Smith (pref.) at £1 2s, Radio (1936) at £1 Is 6d, and Silknit at £1 10s. Woolworth (Sydney) shares were wanted at £1 3s 6d, with a seller at £1 4s, and Mount Lyells had a buyer at £1 5s and a seller at £1 6s 6d. Yesterday’s Sales Dunedin.—Sales reported: E.S. and A.
