ARMED ROBBERIES

DARING CRIMES IN BOMBAY (Rec. 0.45 a.m.) BOMBAY, Dec. 12. Two armed robberies were committed in 36 hours in the'most crowded residential quarters of Bombay. Twelve men dressed like Pathans entered the office of a motor transport company, and after overpowering at the point of the dagger the staff sleeping inside, carried off a heavy iron safe by car. In the other raid four men dressed as Punjabis broke into the offices of a brokerage firm, threatened the staff with daggers and pistols, and made off with securities worth £II,OOO. One bandit was captured in the resultant pursuit down a side street.
