TURNBULL AND JONES, LTD.

SHARE ISSUE QUICKLY OVER- • SUBSCRIBED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 12. The organising brokers, Messrs Finch, Webster, and Oswin, report that toe issue of new shares in Messrs Turnbull and Jones, Ltd., was over-subscribed in five minutes in Wellington. The shares offered to the public were 60,000 £1 ordinary shares at a premium of 2s 6d and 15,000 5 per cent, non-cumulative preference shares at par. The subscription list opened at 10 a.m., and closed at 10.5 a.m. today.

Local brokers report that the issue was well received in Dunedin, and it is believed that a sum equal to the whole amount sought was subscribed locally. As was expected, the preference shares were heavily over-subscribed. No indication has been given as to how allotments will be made.
