LYRIC CHOIR

The Lyric Choir, conducted by Mr John T. Leech, will present a diversified programme in the Concert Chamber to-night. A feature of the-pro-gramme will be the appearance of the Timaru soprano, Miss Anne Campbell, the New Zealand winner of the Mejba Scholarship elimination contest. She will sing “ Behold Titania,” from“ Mignon” (Thomas). “Lo, Hear the Gentle Lark” (Bishop), and Grieg’s “Solveig’s Song." Also assisting will be Miss Ethel Wallace, violinist, who will play Massenet’s “ Meditation ” and Kreisler’s “ Frasquita Mr R. J. Laurenson, who will sing "The Toreador Song,” from "Carmen,” and Dorothy Wallace (’cellist), who will be associated with Ethel Wallace and Sybil Baker in instrumental trios. “The Dance Duet,” from the children’s opera, “ Hansel and Gretel,” will be sung by Eleanor Chadwick and Flora McDonald. The accompanist will be Sybil Baker.
