FIRE AT MARYBOROUGH
BAGGED SUGAR DESTROYED BRISBANE, Oct. 1. About 14,000 tons of bagged sugar were destroyed in a fire at the Maryborough Sugar Mill yesterday The damage is estimated at £IOO.OOO. The fire followed an explosion in stacked sugar. It swept through the building so quickly that the workmen had no lime to save their personal belongings.
