CLOUDY AND COLD Forecast for Otago—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. vesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—A group of depressions surrounds New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Fresh to strong southerlies; weather cloudy and cold, with occasional rain at first, but Improving temporarily during the day. Further Outlook.—Unsettled again, with further rain. Weather in Dunedin.—Heavy rain, accompanied by a light south-west breeze, fell in Dunedin yesterday morning, but during the afternoon conditions gradually improved and towards sunset the rain ceased, although the sky remained heavily overcast. The barometer showed a slight rising tendency during the latter part of the day and at midnight stood at 29.75 inches (1007 millibars).
