CUSTOMS RETURNS

PORT OF OTAGO The Customs returns tor the Port ot Otago during the month of September totalled £34,490, a decrease of £1460 compared with the figures for the corresponding month of last year. Beer duty, however, amounted to £35,666, or £3789 more than the receipts for September. 1944. Sales tax for the month just ended totalled £33,759, a decrease of £1617, and War Expenses Account receipts, which amounted to £125,573, showed an advance of £3OIB on the figures for September of last year.
