BURNSIDE MARKET
FAT CATTLE SLIGHTLY CHEAPER WETHERS MAINTAIN LATE RATES Values at the Burnside market yesterday showed an easing in some sections compared with recent sales. This was more noticeable In the early part of the cattle sale, but as this progressed there was a sharp revival, and prices at the finish compared favourably with those ot last week. Primest quality beef, however, had a fairly good demand throughout. Wethers just about retained recent values, but heavy ewes were easier than the high values reached last week, the decline being fully 4s a head- There was a better display of store cattle, and with a fairly large circle of buyers there vas keen competition throughout the sale. There was a small yarding of baconers, and for these there was a particularly keen demand, especially for the heavier W Fat 11 Cattle.—The entry numbered 330 With the number of heavy entries £<>i the past few weeks, it appeared as though the yarding would hardly be absorbed The sale opened at prices fully 30s a head below those ruling last week, and this level was maintained for about half
