SCOTTISH SOCIETY

MONTHLY SOCIAL The Scottish Society of Dunedin held it* monthly social and dance in the Victoria Hall on Saturday night, a large number of members and friends being present. The executive members were piped to the platform. The president (Mr J. T. Ramsay) occupied the chair and extended a welcome to the president of the Burns Club, Mr Arthur Macdonald, and Mrs Macdonald. The immediate past president (Mr G. McCrae) also extended a welcome to those present and later moved a vote of thanks to the performers who contributed to a successful evening. Items were given by Master W. Wardrope (comet solo), Mr E. Paris (song), a sword dance by Misses Enid Johnston and Mary Weir, and a Sean Triubhais by Misses Clare Lamont and Marina Callaghan. The official pipers were Mr A. Stewart and Mr H. Crawford. Supper was served by the Ladies' Social Committee under Mrs W. Hall. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing, Mr W. A. Wilson being the M.C.
