OTAGO CRICKET LEAGUE
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Otago Cricket League was held last night, Mr E. Hellver presiding over a large attendance. Commenting on the annual report, Mr Hellver said that 16 teams had taken pai t in the competition last year, an increase of six over the previous season. This was a very satisfactory increase in a war year. He conveved thanks to all members of the executive' the delegates from the various clubs, and to the players and supporters who had assisted the league during the past few years, and said that the return of many servicemen within the next few months should increase its ranks. The secretary was instructed to apply for 11 wickets for the forthcoming season. It was anticipated that there would be at least 20 teams taking part in the league's competition. . The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:— Patrons—Messrs D. C. Cameron, N. Anderson, F. Jones (Minister of Defence), P. Neilson, M.P-, and p. G. Connolly. M.P.; president, Mr W. Fleurv; vice-presidents—Messrs J. K. Macfie A. Melville, A. Burland, A. Webster, H H. Gaston, J. B. C. Watson, W. Cocking T. Halllday, K. Hellyer, and A. A. Paape; secretary-treasurer, Mr S. Ringrose; auditors. Messrs T. Halllday and A. Burland; publicity officer, Mr R. Mabon. At the conclusion of the election of officers, the following were elected as life members of the league:—Messrs D. C. Cameron, E. Hellyer, H. H. Gaston. T. Halllday, A. Burland, and L. Quest.
