Undefended Cases Judgment by default was given for the plaintiffs in the following undefended cases:—Brown, Ewing, and Co., Ltd., v. W. Thomson (Riverton), £9 Gs lid, with costs (£2 4s 6d), balance owing for goods supplied; Butterfields, Ltd., v. F. B. Murray, 14s, with costs (8s), balance owing for goods supplied.
Defended Cases
Isabella Susan Donaldson (Mr R. King) proceeded against Robert William Timlin (Mr Barnes, Labour Department) for possession of a dwelling at 63 Helena street, which was owned by the plaintiff and rented by the defendant.—After evidence had been heard, the magistrate made an order that possession be given on or before October 9, and'awarded costs (£2 3s) to the plaintiff. Albert John Price, builder (Mr J. G. Warrington) proceeded against James E. Campbell (Mr H. L. Gibson, jun.) for £23 11s 6d, the value of materials furnished and work done as extras in the building of the defendant’s residence at Kirkland street, Green Island.—After hearing evidence, the magistrate gave judgment for the plaintiff for £lB 6s 6d, with costs (£4 4s). James E. Campbell (Mr Gibson) proceeded against Albert John Price, builder (Mr Warrington) on a claim for £25 damages for failing to carry out his obligations under an agreement to erect a residence for the plaintiff at Green Island, as the result of which the ceilings of certain rooms required to be repainted.— After evidence had been heard, judgment was given for the defendant, with £3 3s solicitor’s fee.
