ORPHANS’ CLUB

FORTNIGHTLY SOCIAL There was a numerous attendance of members and visitors at the fortnightly social of the Dunedin Orphans’ Club last night, the occasion being “Blind Guests and Amputees’ Night.” The president, Bro. N. R. Mclsaac, was in the chair. A varied programme of vocal and instrumental music was enjoyed by the guests, and during the evening a talk vvas given by Colonel A. E. Loach, of Christchurch, secretary of the Kindred Clubs’ Association. , . . . _ The orchestra, under the baton of Bro. J. Clark, played a number of selections, and solo items were given by the following:—Songs—Bros. A. Macdonald, J. S. Larkins, E. Ottrey, L. Borrow, M. O'Sullivan, W. J. Thomson; violin solo, R. Pettitt; xylophone solo, G. Macdonald; recitation, F. Page.
